DICKINSON, Texas -- Galveston County Sheriff’s Deputies were led on a high-speed chase after a shooting Wednesday night. The chase didn’t last that long after the suspects turned down a road that dead-ended into Galveston Bay.

The suspects bailed after their getaway car crashed into a ditch where FM 646 runs into Galveston Bay.
The incident began with a shooting in Dickinson, where two people were shot. A deputy responding to a different scene nearby was flagged down by eyewitnesses who reported the shooting.
As he arrived on the scene of the gunplay, two suspects in a maroon car sped off eastbound on FM 646. Just one problem, the Farm to Market Road dead ends into Galveston Bay in the Galveston County community of Bacliff.
That is where the chase ended as the suspects slammed their car into a ditch and attempted to flee on foot. The pair was caught shortly thereafter and a small caliber gun was found near the wrecked car.
Galveston Sheriff’s Office did not identify the two suspects, but did say the pair is from Louisiana. The shooting victims suffered only superficial injuries said investigators.
