Houston City Council passes ban on big vehicles in residential streets
01:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, May 14, 2008
HOUSTON -- Houston City Council on Wednesday passed a plan to ban large vehicles from parking on residential streets.
The ordinance affects vehicles that are at least 22 feet long.
That’s much shorter than the current ban, which is 30 feet.
From now on, vehicles the size of wrecker trucks can no longer park in neighborhoods, even during the day.
But there are some exemptions for some vehicles, like moving vans, delivery trucks and construction equipment.
