CONROE, Texas -- A Conroe man is jailed on a capital murder charge in connection with the death of his girlfriend's 3-year-old autistic son.
Ethan Kirby was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital from Conroe last week, but doctors weren't able to save him.
Medical personnel called police to alert them that there were signs of severe abuse.

Chase Cannon is seen in this mug shot.
An autopsy showed the child had suffered a serious head injury, a broken arm, multiple bruises in different stages of healing and what appeared to be burns to the bottom of his feet.
The mother and her boyfriend, Chase Cannon, were both questioned last week.
After conducting an investigation, police charged Cannon with capital murder.
They arrested the 27-year-old earlier this week.
Cannon is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail.
