'Point blank bandit' strikes third area bank

05:33 PM CDT on Monday, October 6, 2008

KHOU.com staff report

HOUSTON—The “Point blank bandit” has struck again.

The FBI is seeking the public’s help to find the suspect who in each robbery places a semi-automatic handgun directly against the head or the body of a bank employee. Police say the robber then uses that employee as a hostage in order to force other employees to comply with his demands.

FBI offers $15,000 reward for "point blank bandit"

The suspect committed his third area robbery at the Capital One Bank, located at 870 South Mason in Katy, Texas.

“Point blank bandit” is also believed responsible for the robbery of a Houston Comerica Bank and Wells Fargo Bank.

The FBI is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

The bandit is described as being between 25 and 35 years old, about 6 feet tall, weighing 200 to 250 pounds, with a clean shaven face and a shaved head.  He was wearing clothing that matches the description of clothing worn in the other two robberies; a pale yellow or cream colored short-sleeved dress shirt, dark slacks and sunglasses.  Witnesses interviewed after the September 10th robbery described a burn scar on his left wrist.

If you have information about this case, you are urged to call the FBI Houston office at 713-693-5000.
