HOUSTON—Two little boys who were left in a hot truck for eight hours were still in the hospital Thursday.
They were left in the truck by their mother on Labor Day.
Hospital officials say the 2-year-old boy may have organ and brain damage.
The younger sibling is doing better and may be released from the hospital soon.
The mother, Sandra Mendoza, told police she was drinking at a party before arriving home with the boys.
She said she went into her home and fell asleep, leaving the kids strapped in their car seats in the truck.
Mendoza is facing two counts of injury to a child.
