04:18 PM CDT on Friday, June 26, 2009
HOUSTON -- The family of a teenager who was killed on the job are asking for help finding his killer.
Edward Veeruppen, 19, was killed as he worked as the night manager at the Popeye’s Chicken on FM 529 on May 1.
Authorities say that his killer walked into the restaurant and demanded money. The thief then shot Virrappen several times. He died at the scene.
The victim’s mother says she is still searching for answers.
“I just can’t understand. What’s the reason and what was the reason for this? They got the money, but they still killed him,” she said.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call (713) 222-TIPS (8477).
