01:58 PM CDT on Saturday, June 27, 2009
HOUSTON -- This weekend will be another scorcher! Houstonians face extreme heat as temperatures are expected to rise over 100 degrees for the fifth day in a row.
11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez says the summer heat is not letting up and Houstonians should brace themselves for more hot weather.
The high heat index today is expected to feel like 108 degrees. Tomorrow may feel the same.
The city may have some light showers around the Gulf Coast areas south of Interstate10.
"This may be one of the hottest Junes on record. Things are getting really parched and dry around the city.” Said Gomez.
Summertime showers are popping up and we may get some slight relief. Gomez says there is a good chance that we may see some light showers by Monday and Tuesday.
