Still hot, but a chance for rain Monday
08:22 AM CDT on Monday, June 29, 2009
HOUSTON—Monday will be hot again, but 11 News Meteorologist David Paul says we’ve got a decent chance for some thundershowers later on in the day.
“We’re going to hit 100 again in many inlands spots as we head into early afternoon, but later in the day, those same areas are going to begin to see the rain chances increase,” Paul said.
Paul said we have a front to thank for that. He said it’s currently sitting just to the north of the Houston area, and it will likely move in and be the trigger for some rain activity.
“We might see some reports of gusty wind and heavy rain and lightning with this stuff later this afternoon,” Paul said.
Paul said the rain chance is officially 30 percent, but he thinks, in reality, the odds might be a little better than that.
Paul also said that if the rain doesn’t happen Monday, there’s still a shot at some showers Tuesday.
As for the highs, they’ll decrease over the week, but they’ll still be in the upper-90s.
