HOUSTON -- One famous Houston restaurant chain is celebrating a big milestone.
Frenchy’s is turning 40!
Houstonians have been lining up for the famous fried chicken and Creole food since 1969.
That is when the Creuzot family opened their first Frenchy’s restaurant on Scott Street and the business is still growing strong.
Many flood the restaurant for traditional Southern-styled cooking known for its flavor, richness and heritage.
Frenchy’s influence is a mixture of ethnic groups blending the tastes of French, Caribbean, Spanish, African and Native-American flavors.
The restaurant has been a staple in Houston for decades.
