Harris Co. offers temporary amnesty to hot check writers
09:17 AM CDT on Thursday, October 15, 2009
HOUSTON—The Harris County DA’s office is offering an amnesty program for people who owe the county money stemming from a hot check.
Officials say they’re giving those people a few weeks to pay up without penalty.
The amnesty will last through the end of the month.
If hot check writers don’t pay up by next month, they’ll be arrested during a county-wide sweep.
