Former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle La'Roi Glover is retiring after 13 seasons in the NFL.
"I'm blessed that I was able to play this game that I love for so long. It has been such an incredible journey. The players, coaches, and front office staff in the cities I've played have all given me so many great memories," Glover said in a news release. "I still love the game with the same passion I had as a young player in high school, so I plan to always be attached to it in some way, whether commentating, working in the front office, or scouting. But who knows what opportunities await in the next chapter of my life."
Glover had 21.5 sacks in his four seasons in Dallas (2002-05), which is a good number for an interior lineman. He also made the Pro Bowl every year with the Cowboys.
Glover was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth-round in 1996. He played one season there before moving to the New Orleans Saints, and later the Cowboys. He finished his career with the St. Louis Rams.
In Glover's 193 games played he recorded 627 tackles and 83.5 sacks.
Glover's post-NFL plans include earning his MBA and spending time with his wife and their three children.
