COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is the first winner of a Texas A&M University architecture award for his role in the building of Cowboys Stadium.
The Aggies will honor the noted University of Arkansas alum during their game against the Razorbacks on Saturday night at the new $1.15 billion facility.
The teams are playing for the first time since 1991 in a series booked at Cowboys Stadium for at least the next 10 years.
Jones will receive the "Spirit of Place" medal from the Texas A&M University College of Architecture. Officials plan to give the award each year to a key contributor in a significant building project.
