RICHARDSON - On Saturday, a boy believed to be 10 years old, called 911 to report a disturbance. When police arrived at the Richardson home, they found the body of a woman inside, the victim of a very unusual crime. Officers have yet to elaborate on what happened to her.

Also, inside were three men, police said, including the homeowner, along with the boy.

Nine hours later, officers still have a portion of the 5700 block of Kensington, in far northeast Richardson, blocked with police cars and yellow crime scene tape.

Murders are rare in Richardson. Police only report one in all of last year and none in 2006.

But what happened in this two-storey gray brick house, lush with landscaping, is unlike anything police have investigated in this city before.

"We believe we have the body of one female who is the victim in this case," said Sgt. Kevin Perlich, from Richardson Police Department. "There were also three adult males in the residence at that time."

Those three, including the homeowner, have been charged with murder, Perlich added.

Investigators describe the interior of the home as a grisly crime scene.

Hours after discovering the body, police can not identify the victim and exactly how she died, or immediately pinpoint a motive to what led to such violence on a sleepy suburban street.

Richardson Police took the boy into protective custody.

Look for updates on what makes this murder so unusual when police elaborate.
