FORT WORTH — The Forest Park Miniature Railroad has been a Fort Worth tourist attraction for more than five decades.
The train travels its five-mile route through wooded areas of the park at a leisurely rate; it's about a 40-minute ride past duck ponds that spans six bridges. The brightly-colored train has open air seating for good views (and a little breeze).
It's affordable, too — a ticket is just $3 for adults and $2.50 for kids and seniors. Payment is cash only; no credit cards are accepted.
There are two depots — one in Forest Park and the other in Trinity Park. During the summer season, trains run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The train does not operate on Mondays.
