FORT WORTH -- The Fort Worth Police Department is cutting ties with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, saying it will not work with the TABC on operations until more is learned about what took place in the raid of a Fort Worth gay bar.
Now the internet is fueling outrage over injuries one man, Chad Gibson, sustained in the raid.
A Facebook page is one of the biggest reasons the pressure on both the TABC and Fort Worth Police continues to grow. The group had more than 6,700 members Thursday.
Kyle Trentham is running it. Within hours, he saw its power
"We organized an entire protest and had council members and people from Dallas on the courthouse steps in less than 12 hours," Trentham said.
The site's now turning its attention to the next Fort Worth City Council meeting on July 14, when Trentham says hundreds of people are expected to attend, asking for answers.
Answers to questions like why the lounge was targeted, and what role Fort Worth officers played.
Fort Worth Police Chief Jeff Halstead's said Chad Gibson's injury happened while with TABC officers.
But Gibson's father points to a photo that he says shows a Fort Worth officer involved in the incident.
Casey Crosby, one of five arrested for public intoxication, says she was manhandled as well.
"Next thing I know a cop grabbed me from behind, grabbed my arm and twisted me around," she said.
And while Crosby says she's not certain whether it was TABC or Fort Worth officers who manhandled her, another man arrested says he knows who injured him.
George Armstrong says he's certain it was Fort Worth officers, not TABC agents, who injured his arm, sending him to the Emergency Room.
Chief Halstead said officers would be going through "multiculturalism training" in the coming weeks.
Chad Gibson is recovering from the blood clot on his brain and could be released as early as Friday.
